Introduction
T-POF2,TOEM’s Bare plastic optical fiber (POF) refers to a polymer optical transmission element consisting only of a core and cladding, without an outer coating/sheath. The core material is high-purity polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) or fluorinated resin, and the outer layer is a thin fluoropolymer cladding. It lacks the UV-cured coating and PVC tight-buffered protective structures found in conventional optical fibers. Its extremely simple structure gives it unique advantages in cost control, signal transmission accuracy, and adaptability to secondary processing. It is mainly suitable for short-distance optical transmission, internal equipment wiring, and customized processing scenarios.
Plastic optical fiber (POF) is a type of optical fiber (optical waveguide fiber) made of highly transparent polymers such as polystyrene (PS), polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), and polycarbonate (PC) as the core material, and PMMA, fluoroplastics, etc. as the cladding material. Different materials have different optical attenuation properties and temperature application ranges.
