Special reinforced water blocking tape is a high-performance waterproof material, mainly used for waterproofing of power cables, communication cables, optical cables and other cables. It composed of reinforced polyester fiber non-woven fabric, semi-conductive adhesive (or ordinary adhesive), high-speed expansion water-absorbing resin and other materials. The selection and proportion of these materials make the water blocking tape have excellent water-blocking performance, tensile strength and durability.

The water blocking tape adopts a multi-layer structure design, usually the water-absorbing resin adhered between two layers of non-woven fabric or on both sides of a layer of non-woven fabric to form a strip material of a certain thickness. The use of reinforced polyester fiber non-woven fabric as the base material improves the tensile strength and wear resistance of the water-blocking tape. The water-absorbing resin has the characteristic of rapidly expanding when it comes into contact with water, which can quickly fill the gaps inside the cable and prevent the longitudinal flow of water in the cable.

Application of Water Blocking Tape

Be specially used for large section medium and low voltage water blocking cable and submarine  cable which meet the requirements of high tensile strength for water blocking tape and good water blocking  performance. It is suitable for requiring high strength and large outer diameter wrapping of submarine cables.
