Stainless Steel Tube/Pipe Optical Unit for Special Optical Cable

The stainless steel tube optical unit is a “stainless steel tube” or “steel pipe” with built-in optical fibers and water blocking materials. Which belonging to the “metal loose tube” structure. In order to meet the harsh working conditions of OPGW. The optical fibers inside the steel pipe must have appropriate excess length.

Stainless Steel Tube Technology Parameters

Usually, the technical requirements for 304 stainless steel strip used in OPGW are shown in Table 3.7.2-2
Table 3.7.2-2
Item   Unit Requirements
Yield strength  N/mm² ≥205
Tensile strength  N/mm² ≥520
Elongation rate % ≥40
Hardness HV ≤200
Permissible tolerance for nominal thickness mm thickness:0.15~0.3;tolerance:±0.01
Permissible width tolerance mm width:according to the diameter of the steel pipe; tolerance±0.1
Allow sickle bending mm/2m ≤8
Shear burr height ≤10%Steel strip thickness

Specification

The specifications of commonly used OPGW stainless steel tube light units are shown in the table 3.7.2-3
